Area Underclassman Forward Has Some Offers

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game of New Jersey underclassman forward Ryan McCoy, who already has a couple of offers on the table to play the game of college basketball ...

Ryan McCoy, a 6-foot-6, 180-pound forward from Montgomery High School in the state of New Jersey, has already secured scholarship offers from The Citadel and Iona, according to one of his AAU coaches, Matt Pauls of Team NJABC.

"He also has serious interest from Fairfield, Siena and emerging interest from Boston University, Fordham," said Pauls.

Ryan is an intriguing prospect due to his size, skills and age. A rising junior, he has displayed the ability to hit the deep ball while playing for head coach Matt Pauls and Team NJABC over the past summer.

"Ryan continues to get stronger, and he's working on his ball handling," said Pauls.

Because of his size and his ability to score points on many parts of the floor, college coaches are interested.

He's emerging as one of the better players in the area from his class. He can play the wing position. He is one of the best pure shooters in the 2011 class (New Jersey).
