Guard Still Impressed With Big East School

Reporter Mike Sullivan did a followup with guard prospect Danny Lawhorn, who had taken a Big East trip to Providence College a couple of weeks ago. We wanted to see how his thoughts were regarding the trip and whether the emotion had worn off ...

Danny Lawhorn, a 5-foot-10 guard from South Kent School in Connecticut, continues to stay emotionally sky high on his visit to Providence College a couple of weeks ago.

"I enjoyed the campus," said Lawhorn. "And the team was great and the way the fans treat the players."

Lawhorn, born in New York City, is a tough guard, willing to take the ball to the rim against the bigger bodies. He competes hard on both ends of the court.

These are some of the reasons why schools are keeping up with his progress. But the Friar visit was impressive to him.

"They have a great coaching staff," said Lawhorn. And it's a nice city."

Danny previously told us that he has a long list of schools right now since it's early in his recruiting process.

The schools he mentioned to us are Pittsburgh, Seton Hall, Florida and South Florida. He still has interest also in Villanova, St. Bonaventure, Rutgers, Fairfield, St. John's, St. Peter's, Fordham, Baylor, Maryland, UAB, and Texas were of interest. Danny has two years remaining on the prep level, giving him ample time to continue to make significant progress in his individual game.
