New Jersey Recruit Hauls In Scholarship Offer

Reporter Mike Sullivan updates the recruiting situation of a guard prospect from the state of New Jersey ...

Khalid Lewis-El, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey (previously McCorristin Catholic H.S.), received a scholarship offer, according to his AAU coach Matt Pauls.

According to the Team NJABC AAU head coach, Khalid picked up a scholarship offer from Drexel. We previously evaluated his game several times during the summer: Khalid has the ability to produce points from many points on the floor. He has the ability to take the ball to the rim and score consistently as well as drop down jumpers.

OTHER SCHOOLS OF INTEREST: Provdience, St. John's, Rutgers, Richmond, Virginia Tech, Michigan State, St. Joe's, Temple, Fairfield, Rider, Siena, and Marist.

MATT PAULS' THOUGHTS ON KHALID'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: His perimeter game continues to improve. He has a great first step and can destroy the interior of a defense with his drives to the rim.

Khalid is working on his ballhandling and to continue his perimeter consistency.

EVALUATION:

Lewis possesses a high skill level and the touch to score on pretty drives inside the paint and near the rim. He has the confidence to challenge the bigger bodies with his offensive game.

Khalid, who also competes for boys basketball head coach Fred Falchi at Trenton Catholic, split his time between the 16 and under and 17 and under Team NJABC AAU basketball program.
