Cardozo Senior Making Progress In His Game

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a look at the individual game of Ryan Rhoomes, who is part of a Cardozo High School team that should be among the best teams in the City ...

Ryan Rhoomes, a 6-foot-8, 213-pound forward from Cardozo High School in Bayside, New York, should be one of the most important players for head coach Ron Naclerio this upcoming basketball season.

Ryan is a player that has the ability to make an impact on both ends of the court. Normally, Naclerio utilizes an uptempo style of play for the Judges. Rhoomes should excel in such a pace.

National expert Dave Telep was impressed with what he saw of Ryan over the summer: "Rhoomes finished off a strong breakout type performance by faring exceptionally well against Johnson. He's a big kid who seals and scores inside. You can tell his confidence is growing and this is going to be a guy that Big East schools evaluate and eventually offer."

According to Ryan: "I've been working on my shooting and gaining some weight. I've got offers from West Virginia, Virginia Tech, St. John's, Providence, Cincinnati, Pittsburgh. And I've been talking to Louisville, Marquette, and Oklahoma."

Ryan said he is open in his recruiting process and is just focusing now on his senior season at Cardozo High School.
