CLASS: 2011, a current junior prospect

AAU TEAM: Team Phenom out of Philadelphia, Penn.

BIG GAMES THIS FALL AND SUMMER: Joey scored 24 points, handed out eight assists and had three steals to help his team win a second round playoff game in the KYFL playoffs.

Gripper has had a solid Fall too. He previously netted 12 points and added eight assists in the Junior/Senior All Star game held at the Midnight Madness event held in Chester, Penn.

Previously, we reported that Gripper pumped in 19 points and added 11 assists to help his team, The Brotherhood, claim the 17 and under championship in the Mill Creek Summer League.

*Gripper also helped Team Phenom advance to the Final Four in the NIKE Chosen League, only to lose to a team sponsored by NBA player Thaddeus Young in the semifinals.


Gripper, who made the all tournament team, tallied 15 assists in a semifinal playoff game game at the event and also scored 14 points and had 11 assists in the team's championship victory. Team Phenom defeated the New York Panthers, 68-57.

*Joey made the all tournament team at the Southern Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia.


"Brown offered Joey today," according to his dad, Paul. "He now has five offers -- St. Bonaventure, Drexel, Brown, Harvard, and Penn."

Joey also has high interest from Davidson, Navy, Northeastern, Yale, and Stanford.

Mr. Gripper previously mentioned that St. Bonaventure was the leader while Seton Hall is also of high consideration besides the schools mentioned above.

Gripper previously mentioned interest in La Salle, Maine, and Charlotte.
