New Jersey Prospect Reclassifies To 2011

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides an update on New Jersey forward prospect Kazembe Abif, who has decided to reclassify to the class of 2011 ...

Kazembe Abif, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward from University High School in Newark, New Jersey, has decided to reclassify to the 2011 class.

"I am moving to the class of 2011 next year," he said. "I'll also be playing with team NJABC and coach Pauls (Matt) again next year."

Abif is a player worth watching over the next 12-18 months. He has the ability to play both forward slots and improved his game greatly while competing with Team NJABC.

There are several schools monitoring his progress. Among them: Boston College, Providence, Boston University, Quinnipiac, St. Joe's of Philadelphia, and Michigan.

He also has offers from NJIT, Army, Boston University, and Lafayette.

WHAT MATT PAULS PREVIOUSLY SAID ABOUT KAZEMBE ABIR:

Kaz is a player who plays above the rim and effectively in the paint. He tough to stop around the basket. He can dunk on you and make you pay if you leave him with a loose ball near the basket. He's been working hard on trying to improve his perimeter game.
