New Jersey Underclassman Worth Watching

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at the individual game of a prospect from the state of New Jersey, an underclassman ...

Eric Fanning, a 6-foot-5, 205-pound multi-purpose combo forward from Trenton Central High School in Trenton, New Jersey, has been a player cited several times by one of the country's top AAU coaches, Matt Pauls of Team NJABC over the past several months.

Pauls' team, one of the better run AAU boy's basketball programs in the country, usually competes at the top events during the spring and summer sessions, giving players like Fanning a chance to develop their skill level against formative competition.

WHAT MATT PAULS PREVIOUSLY SAID ABOUT ERIC FANNING AND HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Pauls had previously stated: "He been hearing from schools that compete in the Ivy League, MAAC, NEC, Southern Conference and America East. Because of his progress and Eric working so hard, he'll eventually be a division one player."

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF ERIC FANNING'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Eric does a nice job in the paint, producing baskets near the rim on second chance efforts. He continues to work on his perimeter game, trying to diversify himself as he prepares for the July evaluation period.

Fanning is a solid student too, opening up some academic options if he wishes to explore them over the next couple of years.

Eric competes very hard on both ends of the court, working hard on every possession.
