East Coast Prospect Having Solid Year So Far

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a free look at the individual game of East Coast guard prospect Dylan Moody, who is having a solid year as an underclassman ...

Dylan Moody, a 5-foot-10, 170-pound backcourt guard prospect from Abington Friends School in Jenkintown, Pennsylvania, has had a solid start to his high school season.

Moody, an underclassman and member of the 2011 class (junior), is currently scoring a bit more than 11 ponts a game. He also provides some spark on the defensive side, making two steals per contest.

Dylan has played a couple of different roles. At times, he'll handle the ball. More often, he's in the backcourt to help lead guard Joey Gripper, another junior prospect who is being recruited on the division one level.

THOUGHTS ON DYLAN MOODY FROM THE COACHING STAFF AT AFS:

"He is a very good shooter, possessing good speed. He's also a very capable defender.

"Dylan is still working on polishing his skills but he does a nice job complimenting Gripper when they play together in the backcourt.

"Dylan does a great job with on the ball defense and this allows Gripper to get his hands in the passing lane, leading to more steals."

It's likely Dylan will be recruited by low division one programs, some division two programs as well. However, it's early in his recruiting process. His status could climb if he continues to make progress in his individual game and also has a big summer of AAU play.
