Two-Sport Star Having Terrific Hoops Season

Anthony Gaffney, a 6-foot-2, 170-pound football/basketball prospect from The Pennington School in Pennington, New Jersey, said he is very satisfied with how his basketball season is going. "We won again today and our team is now 18-2," he said.

In the recent Primetime Shootout, Gaffney was a big reason why his team upended a very talented Albany Academy basketball squad.

Gaffney, a very talented football player, said a Big East school has picked up their interest in him. "I've been speaking a bit with Pittsburgh," he said.

We previously reported that Anthony had taken an unofficial campus visit to Connecticut.

Gaffney commented: "... I had a good time. There were about 20-25 of us taking the visit. It was a better visit than others I've taken because the amount of players that were there. It was small."

Gaffney has also taken a visit to Big East program Rutgers for football.

Anthony still said he is open in his recruiting process and hopes to take more visits in the future.

His midrange game has improved dramatically. He has been attacking the rim with a vengeance. He needs improve his ballhandling and penetrating left.

Anthony was invited to many elite camps in June. He attended basketball camps at at Columbia, Penn, Cornell, Bucknell and St. Joe's. In addition, Gaffney competed at the Hoop Group Elite camps.
