HEIGHT: 6-foot-1

WEIGHT: 162 pounds

CLASS: 2011, a current junior guard prospect

AAU TEAM: Team Phenom out of Philadelphia, Penn.

AAU TEAM HEAD COACH: Paul Gripper

BIG GAMES THIS FALL AND SUMMER: Gripper was named the MVP at the 2009 Harrington Tournament, hosted by Harrington High School.

Gripper scored 22 points, grabbed six rebounds, and had four assists as AFS defeated Hatboro Horsham, 70-51.

In the second game, Gripper played more the role of playmaker, distributing nine assists, making four steals and grabbing five rebounds. He didn't turn the ball over once, according to AFS assistant coach Dave Fields.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED BIG GAMES FOR JOEY GRIPPER OVER THE PAST YEAR:

Joey scored 24 points, handed out eight assists and had three steals to help his team win a second round playoff game in the KYFL playoffs.

Gripper has had a solid Fall too. He previously netted 12 points and added eight assists in the Junior/Senior All Star game held at the Midnight Madness event held in Chester, Penn.

Joey scored 19 points and added 11 assists to help his team, The Brotherhood, claim the 17 and under championship in the Mill Creek Summer League.

*Gripper also helped Team Phenom advance to the Final Four in the NIKE Chosen League, only to lose to a team sponsored by NBA player Thaddeus Young in the semifinals.

RECRUITING

Gripper has expressed interest in Drexel, Stanford, St. Bonventure, Brown, Columbia, Harvard, Penn, Seton Hall, and Northeastern.
