Academics Important For Long Island Prospect

Josh Elbaum, a 6-foot-3 multi-versatile guard prospect formerly from St. John The Baptist High School on Long Island, New York, had a solid prep year for Northfield Mount Hermon.

"It was a great experience," said Elbaum, who felt he has improved his game to play some division one college basketball.

Elbaum, who had some great seasons for St. John The Baptist High School in West Islip, New York, has always shown us the ability to help his team win a game in many different ways.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION:

Elbaum has shown the ability to help his team in many ways. He has nice size for a lead guard and has impressed the reporters on this website many times with his ability to distribute, score, defend, and rebound.

BRIAN TOWEY'S EVALUATION OF JOSH ELBAUM'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

A pass-first point guard with good size for his position, Elbaum has strong vision and defends well on the ball. It's also possible that he's not done growing.

JOSH ELBAUM'S RECRUITING PROCESS:

Navy was the latest school to get involved and show interest. Ivy League school Columbia has also been active in his recruiting process.

"I really like coach (Joe) Jones (Columbia head coach)," said Elbaum, "I think he is a great coach."

Elbaum added: "I also have offers from school in the NEC, and am really excited about that. But my goals for college are still very academically minded."

Josh indicates he plans on making a decision in the next two weeks.
