Upstate Underclassman Worth Watching

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a detailed look at the individual game of an underclassman who competes at an upstate New York school in the game of basketball ...

Stan Wier, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound shooting guard/small forward from Nichols High School in Buffalo, New York, is an underclassman who is worth watching this spring and summer at AAU events and tournaments.

Wier competed for a high school that had a rigid schedule. He was part of a boy's basketball program that featured the high division one skills of big man Will Regan.

THOUGHTS FROM COACHES ON STAN WIER'S INDIVIDUAL BASKETBALL GAME:

Stan is considered a hard worker who competes on each possession on both ends of the court. Plays just as hard in practice, giving coaches the impression that he'll improve week to week.

Wier averaged double figures this season for his high school. He'll get some looks by division one programs over the spring and summer AAU sessions.
