Upstate Prospect Worth Watching This Spring

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a free player profile look at the individual game of an underclassman from upstate New York in Stan Wier ...

Stan Wier, a 6-foot-3, 200-pound shooting guard/small forward from Nichols High School in Buffalo, New York, is an underclassman who is worth watching this spring and summer at AAU events and tournaments.

Wier competed for a high school that had a very competitive schedule. He was part of a boy's basketball program that featured the high division one skills of big man Will Regan, considered one of the country's top forwards in the class of 2010.

THOUGHTS FROM COACHES ON STAN WIER'S INDIVIDUAL BASKETBALL GAME:

Stan is considered a hard worker who competes on each possession on both ends of the court. Plays just as hard in practice, giving coaches the impression that he'll improve week to week.

Wier averaged double figures this season for his high school. He'll get some looks by division one programs over the spring and summer AAU sessions.
