LATEST UPDATE: Ashton said he is mending his leg injury. "I want to be totally sure of it being fine before I start working out hard," he said.

Pankey said he is very excited about the opportunity to play for Maryland in the Atlantic Coast Conference this upcoming Fall.

"I'm heading down (to Maryland) June 1st," Pankey added. "I want to get my body right first. I'm trying to gain some weight. I want to weigh around 240.

Pankey is trying to make improvements in all parts of his game. But one area he wants to focus on over the next few months is in the offensive area.

"In terms of basketball I definitely want to work on my handle. The shot is there."
