Former LI HS Star Trying To Make Decision

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game of former Long Island high school basketball star Josh Elbaum, who is currently trying to make a decision on where he will play college basketball ...

Josh Elbaum, a 6-foot-3 multi-versatile guard prospect formerly from St. John The Baptist High School on Long Island, New York, is still mulling over some options before he makes a decision on where he'll play college basketball next season.

Elbaum had taken a visit to Hofstra, calling it a great trip, and he felt he related well to the coaching staff. There have been some changes since then. Head coach Tim Welsh resigned while the highly regarded assistant coach Mo Cassara was given the job.

ELBAUM PREVIOUSLY SAID:

"I'm seeing if I can get into Dartmouth. My coach is also talking to Colgate and St. Francis of New York."

Elbaum had some interest from Wagner, a school that has offered him a scholarship too, according to Elbaum.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION:

Elbaum has shown the ability to help his team in many ways. He has nice size for a lead guard and has impressed the reporters on this website many times with his ability to distribute, score, defend, and rebound.

BRIAN TOWEY'S EVALUATION OF JOSH ELBAUM'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

A pass-first point guard with good size for his position, Elbaum has strong vision and defends well on the ball.
