New York City Guard Worth Watching

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a free look at the individual game of Danny Lawhorn, a solid backcourt prospect from New York City who has decided to take a prep season to polish his game ...

Danny Lawhorn, a 6-foot guard from South Kent School in Connecticut, has a big spring and summer of AAU play ahead in his quest to play division one college basketball.

Lawhorn will play division one basketball somewhere in 2011-2012 but for now, he's focused on making himself a better basketball player.

Danny had previously given a verbal commitment to Fordham University. Then the coaching staff was changed and former Hofstra head coach Tom Pecora became the new general for the Rams' basketball program.

After speaking to the new coaching staff, Danny decided to compete this season at Roberson Prep School in New Jersey for the 2010-2011 high school season.

Lawhorn, who is currently playing in the IS8 Spring League, said his recruiting process is now wide open and he'll consider any school showing interest.

DANNY LAWHORN'S SEASON AT SOUTH KENT:

Lawhorn had a terrific season for his team this season. He averaged a double/double in points and assists this past year.

EVALUATION OF DANNY LAWHORN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

*Lawhorn is a tough guard, willing to take the ball to the rim against the bigger bodies. He competes hard on both ends of the court.
