Keeping The Focus On Team Goals

Give the coaching staff at Fairfield credit. They've done a terrific job recruiting some of the best talent available in the tri-state area. Recently, we highlighted their successful recruiting efforts in Queens, New York.

The staff at Fairfield was able to convince one of the better senior prospects in the New York City Catholic League, Maurice Barrow, to play for their basketball program.

Barrow, who played for the highly regarded Christ The King High School basketball program, has always been all business and focused on team goals -- winning basketball games and titles.

"That's what I always try to do when I'm out there," said the 6-foot-5, 210-pound forward, who makes his living near the rim.

"I want to help Fairfield win as many basketball games as possible, win a conference title, and get to the NCAA tournament."

Barrow said his visit to Fairfield and meeting the coaches was good enough for him to choose its basketball program.

"I'll do whatever the coaches need me to do," he said. "I just want to contribute in any way possible and help them win some basketball games."
