Kazembe Abif>, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward from University High School in Newark, New Jersey, is hoping to have a big summer of AAU events to convince more college programs he's worthy of some scholarship offers.

As we reported in the early spring, Abif is officially reclassified to the 2011 class. He is expected to play for Matt Pauls' highly regarded Team NJABC AAU program.

Team NJABC usually plays in the high profile AAU events during the spring and the summer. In addition, Abif will play for The Lawrenceville School.

We previously reported that Abif had some college interest from St. Peter's, Fairfield, Quinnipiac, St. Joe's of Philadelphia, and Michigan.

He also has offers from offers from Army, NJIT, Boston University, and Lafayette.

WHAT MATT PAULS PREVIOUSLY SAID ABOUT KAZEMBE ABIR:

Kaz is a player who plays above the rim and effectively in the paint. He tough to stop around the basket. He can dunk on you and make you pay if you leave him with a loose ball near the basket. He's been working hard on trying to improve his perimeter game.
