Final Look: Sandro Carissimo

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a final look at the individual game of Sandro Carissimo, a guard prospect from Iona Prep who will play division one college basketball ...

Sandro Carissimo was a player we watched a couple of years ago when he was starting to make an impact for Iona Prep. Carissimo, who also showed he was one of the better players in the area while competing in some of the higher profile AAU events. He was also a player to watch in the IS8 Fall and Spring Leagues.

The 6-foot-2 shooting guard can fill it up, produce points in bunches. He's committed to Vermont and should thrive in this level of division one college basketball.

SANDRO'S THOUGHTS ON HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME:

"I'm a scorer. And then play defense, too. But my thing is scoring."

BRIAN TOWEY'S THOUGHTS ON HIS INDIVIDUAL GAME:

A natural point-producer with a deft perimeter touch, Carissimo has been trying to diversify his game to keep defenses off balance.

PREVIOUS INTEREST:

At one time over the past couple of years, Sandro had interest from Penn State, Central Florida, Bucknell, Davidson, Brown, Albany, Holy Cross, and Harvard.

AAU TEAM: Carissimo ran with the New York Gauchos during the spring and summer.
