New Jersey Prospect Prepares For D-1 Level

Reporters Mike Sullivan and Denny Conroy take a final look at the individual game of Josh Daniel, a division one prospect from the Garden State of New Jersey ...

Josh Daniel, a 6-foot-6, 180-pound wing player from St. Patrick High School in Elizabeth, New Jersey, is preparing to play division one basketball for Wagner after his Fall commitment.

Daniel, who previously competed for Matt Pauls' Team NJABC AAU program, had some early recruiting interest from Rider, UMBC, Iona, and Monmouth.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF JOSH'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Josh has a solid perimeter game, one that has impressed Pauls. But it's his improvement in one area of his game that has Paul even more happy. "His rebounding," said Pauls. "This area has improved greatly.

"He is an excellent outside shooter, and his rebounding has improved greatly. He also improved getting to the rim off the dribble, as well as his on-the-ball defense. He needs to continue to get stronger and more physical."

DENNY CONROY'S REPORT:

This past season was a rebuilding year for Wagner. The Seahawks lost four starters from a 16-14 (8-11 NEC) team. The 2009-10 team had seven new players on the roster, five freshman and two redshirt freshman.
