New York City Guard Prospect Has D-1 Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at New York City guard prospect Danny Lawhorn, who is preparing himself to have a big summer in an effort to attract division one college basketball interest ...

Danny Lawhorn, a 6-foot guard from South Kent School in Connecticut, is preparing himself to have a big summer of AAU play, giving himself more opportunities from division one college basketball programs.

Next month is a big one for Lawhorn and other seniors who are seeking scholarship offers as the July evaluation period kicks in.

Danny will compete somewhere on the division one college basketball level in 2011-2012.

Danny had previously given a verbal commitment to the Rams of Fordham in the Bronx, New York. However, when former Hofstra head coach Tom Pecora became the new general for the Rams' basketball program, Lawhorn felt he needed to go play at a prep school next Fall.

Lawhorn told us he was going to play at Roberson Prep School in New Jersey for the 2010-2011 high school season.

Lawhorn had a terrific season for his team this season. He averaged a double/double in points and assists this past year.

*Lawhorn is a tough guard, willing to take the ball to the rim against the bigger bodies. He competes hard on both ends of the court.
