New Jersey Prospect Has D-Interest

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a detailed look at a player from the state of New Jersey that is looking to make improvements in his game this summer and on the prep school level next season ...

Kazembe Abif, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward who competed at University High School in Newark, New Jersey, is hoping for a big summer evaluation month of July to attract more division one college basketball offers.

As we reported previously, Abif is officially reclassified to the 2011 class. He is expected to play for Matt Pauls' highly regarded Team NJABC AAU program. Team NJABC competes in the best AAU tournaments around the country during the month of July, a time for college coaches to seek out future talent.

Abif will play for The Lawrenceville School next season.

Some of the interest in Abif comes from Army, NJI, Boston University, Lafayette, St. Peter's, Fairfield, and Quinnipiac.

WHAT MATT PAULS PREVIOUSLY SAID ABOUT KAZEMBE ABIR:

Kaz is a player who plays above the rim and effectively in the paint. He tough to stop around the basket. He can dunk on you and make you pay if you leave him with a loose ball near the basket. He's been working hard on trying to improve his perimeter game.
