New Jersey Senior Hopes For Big Summer

Reporter Mike Sullivan takes a look at a rising senior boy's basketball prospect from the Garden State of New Jersey ...

Kevin Myricks, a 6-foot-5 power forward from BCIT (Burlington County Institute of Technology) in Westampton, New Jersey, is hoping for a big summer to help land some scholarship offers.

One of his biggest supporters is Team NJABC AAU head coach Matt Pauls, who is considered among the best bench generals in the game of basketball.

MATT PAULS' THOUGHTS ON KEVIN MYRICKS' INDIVIDUAL GAME: He is a tough player near the rim and around the basket. He's rugged too and is productive inside the paint. He also has great hands and is around the ball.

He has great post moves, and because he is a lefty he throws defenders off a bit. Has been hurt a bit lately, but as he recovers, he has tremendous upside."

SOME AREAS THAT NEED TO BE WORKED ON THIS SUMMER FOR KEVIN MYRICKS:

Quickness. Moving his feet laterally better to better his defensive game. Making progress on his ballhandling.

MATT PAULS' FINAL THOUGHTS ON KEVIN MYRICKS' INDIVIDUAL GAME:

"He is new to the grassroots scene, but without a doubt has the potential to be a great player."
