Beal unleashed four three-pointers, helping him rip off 25 points in the pool victory, leading to the elimination of the Rocks in the Gold Medal category of the Super Showcase. This game was held upstairs inside the Milk House, a gym found on the grounds of Disney World.
Hart was disappointed after the game but realized that Beal and the Eagles were a very talented basketball program. "They have great shooters," he said. "We saw that today."
Shaquille Bogs added 17 points and teammate Ben McLemore scored 13.
Tyler Harris led the Albany City Rocks with 24 points, showcasing his improving and more consistent perimeter game. He buried four three-pointers.
St. Louis jumped out to an early 18-8 lead and by the time the game reached the half, it was going to be a huge uphill climb for the Rocks, trailing 42-21.
Heading into the final quarter, the Eagles still held a commanding 61-44 advantage. The Rocks made a couple of valiant runs in the final eight minutes but the Eagles always had an answer, and usually it came from Beal with either a drive to the rim or a jumper.
"He was just great today," said Hart. "No surprise."
