Hinds Leads Charge For Westchester Hawks

With several major college programs in attendance watching him compete, including local programs like St. John's, St. Peter's, and Fordham, Hinds showed why he's among the best guards in this year's class.

Hinds zipped, danced, toe-dragged past many a defender from the Squires of Richmond, Virginia AAU team today at the Wide World of Sports complex, leading the Westchester Hawks past the Southern based squad, 62-45.

Hinds produced 18 points, and ran off several pretty assists two in the victory. He had plenty of help too as Chris Martin had 13 points and Matthew Johnson Townsend was rugged near the rim with 12 points.

Rob Vozenilek led Squires with 13 points while teammage Paul Stone chipped in with 12 points.

The Squires made this a tough challenge for the Hawks, despite the final result. The Squires led 15-14 after the first eight minutes of play. However, Westchester pulled ahead 30-23 at the half, due to Hinds' 10 points, many of the baskets on pretty drives to the basket.

Westchester started to pull ahead in the third, increasing the advantage to 12 points, 48-36.

The Hawks will be in the playoff round here in the Gold Medal category of the Super Showcase, an event now sponsored by ESPN.
