Long Island Hoop Star Changing Schools

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides an update on Long Island rising senior prospect Jordan Allen, who has already made a college decision to stay close to home and play for Mo Cassara ...

Jordan Allen, a 6-foot-6 combo forward who played last season at Bay Shore High School on Long Island, New York, told us he will play for a different prep program this season.

Jordan, who has already given a commitment to Mo Cassara and the Hofstra basketball program, stated he will play at Long Island Lutheran High School, a team that plays a very competitive schedule.

WHAT JORDAN SAID PREVIOUSLY ABOUT HIS VERBAL COMMITMENT TO HOFSTRA:

"Everything added up," said Jordan. "They had everything I look for in a school -- great education, great program, a new coach (Mo Cassara)."

Jordan relied upon some close people too to make this very important decision.

"When my father, myself and Gary Charles (program director of the New York Panthers) sat down with coach Cassara, who told me flat out everything is going to be earned," Allen said.

"He felt like I could come in right away and play and be a major factor," Allen continued.

"What was most important to me was the fact that he said that I'm going to have to work and that my reward would come later. That's all I could ask for, only because nothing in this world is given for free."
