New Jersey Guard Prospect Chooses A School

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game and recruiting process of a rising senior prospect from the Garden State of New Jersey ...

Khalid Lewis-El, a 6-foot-3, 170-pound combo guard from Trenton Catholic Academy in Hamilton, New Jersey (previously McCorristin Catholic H.S.), made a verbal commitment to Delaware, according to his AAU coach Matt Pauls.

According to the Team NJABC AAU head coach, Khalid made the decision this evening.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

Lewis had picked up a scholarship offer from Drexel.

PREVIOUS EVALUATION OF KHALID'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:

Khalid has the ability to produce points from many points on the floor. He has the ability to take the ball to the rim and score consistently as well as drop down jumpers.

OTHER SCHOOLS OF INTEREST: Richmond, Virginia Tech, St. Joe's, Temple, Fairfield, Rider, Siena, and Marist.

MATT PAULS' THOUGHTS ON KHALID'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: His perimeter game continues to improve. He has a great first step and can destroy the interior of a defense with his drives to the rim.

Khalid is working on his ballhandling and to continue his perimeter consistency.
