Pauls: Abif Is Physical & Great Rebounder

Kazembe Abif, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound power forward who competed at University High School in Newark, New Jersey, is goint go make a fine division one college basketball player, according to Team NJABC head coach Matt Pauls.

Abif recently verbally committed to Drexel.

"He has a tremendous motor," Pauls said. "He plays hard every possession."

A senior prospect, he competed for Pauls' highly regarded Team NJABC AAU program. Team NJABC competed in the best AAU tournaments around the country during the month of July.

"He attacks the rim," stated Pauls. "He's very physical on the boards making him a tremendous rebounder."

Abif will play for The Lawrenceville School this season.

Previous interest came from Army, NJI, Boston University, Lafayette, St. Peter's, Fairfield, and Quinnipiac.

Abif will try to make improvements in a few areas this season. "He needs to work on his handle," concluded Pauls. "And also attacking offensively with his right hand."

Kaz is a player who plays above the rim and effectively in the paint. He tough to stop around the basket. He can dunk on you and make you pay if you leave him with a loose ball near the basket. He's been working hard on trying to improve his perimeter game.
