Marquez North (6'3/207) of Mallard Creek High School in Charlotte, North Carolina is off to fast start this season. Through five games, the junior wide receiver has 12 catches for 380 yards and four touchdowns.

Vanderbilt and North Carolina extended early offers, and last week Wake Forest followed suit.

"They came to watch me practice and then a few days later they offered," said North.

Along with the schools that have offered, the junior playmaker is fielding interest from several other schools.

"Besides the three schools that have offered, I am hearing from N.C. State, Clemson, Oregon, Florida State, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina," he said. "I think State and Clemson are close to offering."

North is in no hurry to make a decision, but he has already visited several schools.

"I have already visited Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, and N.C. State," he said. "I will probably visit Clemson for their next home game."

The Mavericks' star knows what he is looking for in a school.

"I want to be a lawyer, so I am going to go to a school that will prepare me for that. As far as football, I want to go to a school that runs a pro-style offense and throws the ball a lot," North said.

The talented junior has tentative timetable for a decision.

"I would like to make a final decision early in my senior season," he said.

North will be one of the state's top wide receivers in the 2013 class. He is a big, physical receiver who can stretch the defense. The junior, bench presses 280 pounds, squats 350, and runs the 40 yard dash in 4.4 seconds.
