Tyrone Crowder (6'3/310) of Richmond County High School in Rockingham, N.C. will be one of the top prospects in state's 2013 class. Although it is early in the recruiting process, the junior already has five offers.
"I have offers from North Carolina, South Carolina, East Carolina, Duke, and Clemson," he said. "I would say North Carolina and Clemson are recruiting me the hardest. I am wide open right now though."
Several other schools are showing a significant interest massive offensive lineman.
The junior has had very strong season so far and he has close to 50 pancake blocks. However, he is working hard to improve on one area of his game.
"Pass blocking is an area I need to improve on," he said.
The Raiders' star is still undecided on what he plans to major in when he gets to college. What will be important to Crowder when he chooses a school?
"I am looking for a school that has a good campus lifestyle and a football program that is doing well," he said.
The Richmond County product said he would like to narrow his list of schools down by beginning of senior season. He bench presses 330 pounds and squats 510. The Raiders' junior currently plays offensive tackle, but will make the transition to guard at the next level. Crowder is incredibly strong and physical. He is a great athlete, who is relentless at the point of attack. A bulldozer on the offensive line, Crowder, has good feet and plays with tremendous leverage. I expect him to see the field early at the school he chooses. Ultimately, he has the potential to become a star at the collegiate level.
