Elijah Hood (6'1/215) of Charlotte Catholic High School in Charlotte, N.C. is one of the top prospects in the state's 2014 class. Hood has an early offer from East Carolina and several schools are showing significant interest.
"Recently, I had a couple of colleges stop by to see my tape,"said Hood. "North Carolina, Western Carolina, and ECU came by my school. Wake Forest, Notre Dame, Virginia, Ball State also came by. Purdue has also started to send me mail."
Hood has also heard from several other schools.
The 2014 prospect already knows what he is looking for in a school.
"The school will need to have what I want to major in," said Hood. "I either want to major in technology or sports science."
Hood does many things well, but is also focused on improving.
"I think I have good leg strength, and I also have good awareness on the field," he said. "I am working on getting bigger and keeping the speed that I have."
Hood is a prospect with an extremely bright future. Thus far, he has only played running back in high school, but will likely play some linebacker during his junior season. In fact, he stated that he would actually prefer to play defense. Regardless, he is a kid you will hear a lot about in the next few years. Hood ran for over 1,900 yards and 34 touchdowns last season. He bench presses 300 pounds, squats 400, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.45 seconds.
