"Last week, I was offered by South Carolina and Vanderbilt," said Lewis Neal (6'2/235). "Then today, I got an offer from Tennessee. It is just amazing how quickly you can pick up offers; it just makes you excited. The SEC is big-time ball".
The three SEC offers over the past four days give Neal a total of six scholarship offers. Along with the schools mentioned above, Neal has offers from North Carolina State, North Carolina, and East Carolina. The defensive end prospect from Hunt High School in Wilson, N.C. was in Chapel Hill this past weekend for North Carolina's junior day. Neal enjoyed the trip, but is also looking forward to visiting several schools in the next few months.
"I am just trying to as many visits as possible," Neal said. I am going to Wake Forest on February 25, Maryland on March 4, South Carolina March 31, and Tennessee sometime over spring break at the end of April. I am just trying to find the place where I feel most comfortable."
Although he already has six offers, Neal is expecting more in the near future.
Neal is in no rush to make a decision and seems to really be enjoying the recruiting process. Despite missing three games last season, he had 99 tackles, 10 sacks, and recovered three fumbles. He is one of the junior prospects in North Carolina.
