Johnson enjoyed his trip to College Park.
"My trip to Maryland was really good," he said. "I really liked the weight room and everything was really nice up there."
The Panther Creek prospect is hearing from several schools.
"I am hearing from Georgia Tech the most. I think they have the most interest in me right now, they are sending me a lot of handwritten letters," Johnson said. "I am also getting stuff from Duke, Tennessee, Maryland, Missouri, Wake Forest, South Carolina, and North Carolina State."
Although Johnson is waiting on his first offer, he believes that he will have a chance to boost his stock this summer.
"Hopefully when I go to camps this summer and schools see me live in action, they will offer," he said. "I plan on going to camps at Georgia Tech, Maryland, N.C. State, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee."
Before he begins the camp circuit, Johnson will take some trips this spring.
"I am going to South Carolina's junior day later this month. I also am going to go to spring practices at Georgia Tech, Maryland, and South Carolina," he said.
Johnson is being recruited to play mainly wide receiver at the collegiate level. He bench presses 240 pounds, squats 255, and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds.
