NC Puts 3 in Pro Bowl

Three North Carolinians were among the 84 players named to the NFL Pro Bowl this afternoon.

All three – tight end Alge Crumpler (New Hanover), wide receiver Joe Horn (Fayetteville Byrd), and defensive end Julius Peppers (Southern Nash) – will represent the NFC.

Crumpler has helped the Atlanta Falcons clinch the NFC South with an 11-3 record. On the year, the 6-foot-2, 262-pounder has caught 48 passes for 774 yards and six touchdowns.

Horn, along with his 85 catches for 1,248 yards and 10 touchdowns, will join Crumpler on offense.

Crumpler's former college teammate Peppers brings his playmaking ability to the defensive side of the ball for the NFC. The 6-foot-6, 283-pounder is one of the big reasons a resurgent Carolina team is back in the playoff hunt.
