Adams Receives First Offer

It was only a matter of time before talented tailback Josh Adams of Cary (N.C.) received his first scholarship offer. That time came Saturday when North Carolina tendered the 5-foot-11, 185-pounder during their Junior Day.

"It's a great opportunity," remarked Adams. "I'm just going to take it in and see how things go with me."

Adams, who receives mail from almost every ACC school, didn't commit and doesn't plan to do so until -- at the earliest -- January.

Being Adams's first offer will always stick in his mind giving the Tar Heels an edge. However, Adams is still reluctant to name a leader or any favorites at this time.

"I don't have any favorites," stated Adams. "I'm just trying to be open-minded about everything."

Adams led all juniors in the state in rushing last season with 2,884 yards and 26 touchdowns.
