Adams Back from Blacksburg

Still lacking a clear cut leader or a defined favorites list, Terry Adams of Elkin (N.C.) continued his college research with a hands-on approach by unofficially visiting Blacksburg for Virginia Tech's junior day this past weekend.

"It was nice," said Terry Adams. "The only thing was the weather; it was a little cold. But other then that the campus was nice. The coaching staff was real nice. I learned a lot about Virginia Tech."

In addition to his trip to the Hokies' campus, Adams has also attended two of North Carolina's junior days, and is considering visiting Winston-Salem this weekend for Wake Forest's spring game.

N.C. State still remains as Adams lone offer, but UNC, Virginia Tech, and Virginia seem likely candidates to follow suit. Should any of the aforementioned schools tender Adams, he wouldn't verbally commit, but admits the school would immediately enter his favorites list.

"I would not commit to a school right after they offered," said Adams. "I would consider looking at the school; I would never give any offer up. I would highly favor the school if they offered, though."

There is no doubt Adams has the skills and ability to play division I-A football, but many coaching staffs question his collegiate position. Some staffs feel he lacks ideal height for defensive line, while others are waiting to test his speed for the linebacker position.

Adams is a four-year starter on the defensive line for Elkin where he received All-State honors last season after accumulating 149 tackles and 23 sacks. He also forced three fumbles and recorded two defensive touchdowns.
