Bristol Picks Up First Offer

Things have started to pick up for Curtis Bristol. Virginia and North Carolina have begun to take notice visiting his high school last week, and his first scholarship offer has been extended.

"Eastern Kentucky offered last Tuesday," said Bristol. "They've offered me as an athlete – most school like me for cornerback or receiver."

Although Bristol, a 5-foot-11, 170-pound athlete from Morgantown (N.C.) Freedom, is being recruited for cornerback and wide receiver, he has spent the past two seasons at quarterback for Freedom High School.

Bristol is trying to keep an open mind during the recruiting process, but admits two schools have begun to separate themselves from the pack.

"I like Virginia Tech and [North] Carolina," said Bristol. "But I'm still trying to look at every school."

The February signing of long time friend and former teammate Jordan Hemby definitely has given the Tar Heels an unmatched advantage.

Like Hemby, Bristol might have to prove his worth during the summer camping circuit. Bristol plans to attend camps at UNC, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Tennessee this summer.
