"Recruiting is going pretty good as far as getting interest from colleges," said Little. "I only have one verbal offer from Nebraska. The running back coach, Randy Jordan, came down from Nebraska. He called me up from my fifth period class and said that they wanted to be the first one to offer me."
Things started to escalate for Little the last few months on the combine scene peaking at last weekends Shrine Bowl Combine. Little post solid combine numbers, but really excelled during passing drills showcasing his versatility.
"I think my times – as far as the forty and the shuttle go – were the best this year [at the Shrine Bowl Combine]," said Little. "I had 4.47 [seconds] in the forty and 4.32 [seconds] in the shuttle. Those were my best numbers this year and I'm pretty happy with them.
"During the passing drills I think I really did well in my route running and getting open. The [Shrine Bowl] coaches said that I have good hands and they said that my route running was good."
Although his Signing Day is over a year and a half away, Little has already established a clear cut leader.
"Really I'm just looking to go to Texas – if I get anything from Texas I'd be tremendously happy," said Little. "They produce a lot of good running backs like Priest Holmes, Ricky Williams, and Cedric Benson."
All interested schools are recruiting Little at tailback, but his frame, speed, and versatility provokes thoughts of playing wide receiver, tight end, defensive end or linebacker. Last season, Little started at tailback and defensive end for Hillside where he accumulated 700 yards rushing, 400 yards receiving and four sacks.
