Since the early parts of his recruitment, Crezdon Butler has declared Clemson his leader. However, the addition of Nebraska and Virginia Tech to his offers list and the increased pressure from opposing coaching staffs has forced Butler to reconsider.
"I've opened up things right now," said Butler. "Everybody has been talking to me and everybody has a good engineering program right now that's talking to me."
Butler, a 6-foot-1, 175-pound athlete from Asheville (N.C.), may no longer own a leader, but he still maintains a top five favorites list.
"Right now I like Clemson, Georgia, North Carolina State, Virginia, and Virginia Tech," said Butler. "I want to make a decision before my season, but I might wait to take official visits."
Besides Georgia, all of Butler's favorites have offered. North Carolina, South Carolina, Nebraska, Maryland and Arkansas round out a solid list of scholarship offers.
In addition to comparing engineering programs, Butler is looking for a school with the best opportunity to play early – as a freshman or sophomore, and a school that has a competitive football program.
Butler will attend one-day camps at Clemson and South Carolina this summer.
