New Offers on the Horizon for Spencer

If coaching staffs stick to their word, Owen Spencer could go from one scholarship offer to possibly four in a matter of a week.

"N.C. State's offered, Virginia Tech said they were, Virginia said they were," said Spencer. "I got a call from South Carolina and they said they were going to go up there June 11th to see me and hopefully offer me on the spot."

Owen Spencer, a 6-foot-2, 160-pound wide receiver from Leland (N.C.) North Brunswick, is also seeing an increase in interest from Clemson and Auburn.

Despite the new attention, Spencer remains loyal to his favorite school – N.C. State, but admits he is intrigued by the new schools.

"My favorite is still N.C. State," said Spencer. "They've got great facilities, show a lot of interest, and are close to home. They've got a good team, good defense so I have more opportunities to get on the field, and guaranteeing me the ball.

"Virginia Tech came to see me and liked the way I look and liked my film. Clemson liked my film and South Carolina is just interested right now."

Spencer is hoping to have his college decision nailed down before his senior football season, but realizes that might become difficult with the influx of new interest, and possibly new offers.

This summer, Spencer will attend camps at N.C. State, South Carolina, Clemson and Virginia Tech.
