Jacobs, a 6-foot-7, 210-pound tight end from Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day, hoped to continue the trend of earning scholarship offers from camp performances at the Yellow Jackets' one-day camp. He certainly got off on the right foot posting his best 40-yard dash time – 4.65 seconds.
"It went well," said Jacobs. "I ran one of my better forties when I as down there. I came out of the camp very confident. I didn't get an official offer, but they said pretty much it's on the verge. Once they get my transcripts they can make an official offer."
Once considered a Virginia lean Jacobs has taken a step back with a decision looming.
"Now it's coming down to the wire," said Jacobs. "I'm just kind of looking at all my options and tallying it up. As far as favorites it's pretty much the same. In no particular order it's Virginia, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech and N.C. State. I'll decide after all the camps."
Jacobs will wrap-up his campus tour by attending North Carolina's one-day camp Friday and N.C. State's one-day camp Saturday. Depending on how things go, he will unofficially visit Virginia Tech Sunday.
