Independence Patriots
Seven of Knotts' past 10 quarterbacks at Independence and West Charlotte have thrown for at least 2,500 yards in a season (Joe Cox, Chris Leak, Keith Matkins, David Green, Benny Council, Pep Hamilton, Scott McCrimmon). Five passed for more than 3,000 yards (Cox, Leak, Matkins, McCrimmon and Green).

For two hours, the players snacked and talked about the burden of becoming well-known, being recruited and making a decision on where to go to college.
