Adams Names Final Five

After months and months of playing the "completely open" card, Josh Adams has narrowed down his list of potential schools to a more manageable five.

"I'm going to end up just setting up all my official visits once the Shrine Bowl is over," said Adams. "The schools I'll most likely visit are LSU, Maryland, [North] Carolina, [N.C.] State, and probably Wake Forest – those are my final five.

"I just stayed in contact a lot [with those five aforementioned schools]. I've been talking here and there [with them], a couple [coaches] have been to the house and they just really showed a lot of interest, so those are the schools I'm sticking with."

Adams, a 5-foot-11 170-pound tailback from Cary (N.C.), owns offers from each of his final five, as well as Clemson, Duke, East Carolina, Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.

This week, however, Adams's focus is on the Shrine Bowl, where he is learning a new offensive system.

"As far as the counters and stuff it's kind of backwards and I'm not really used to the I-formation as much," said Adams. "I just got to get used to it and be ready for Saturday."

In addition to Adams, who is a four-star prospect, North Carolina's Shrine Bowl roster includes two three-star recruits – Norman Whitley and Johnny White.

"We're all competitive," said Adams. "We know what we got and we're going to split time."

Of the three ‘backs, Adams posted the better senior season by rushing for 2,688 yards and 29 touchdowns.

Adams, who hasn't scheduled any of his official visits, will make his decision after taking all five visits.
