Frye, a 6-foot-3 190-pound defensive back from Fayetteville (N.C.) Britt, figures to make his final decision between the three aforementioned schools with the Demon Deacons being strong favorites.
"They are my final three schools," said Frye. "But, Wake Forest is still my leader. They have been with me from the beginning and haven't changed, and I really like the coaching staff, and my friend Brandon Ghee signed with them last year.
"Vanderbilt came in during the Shrine Bowl week. They came in late, but everything they're telling me is really starting to excite me – playing in the SEC, and the great academics. I'm actually taking a strong look at them.
"And at ECU, I know if I go there I can be a real playmaker for them offensively and defensively."
Given Wake Forest's lead, Frye admits that there exists a strong possibility of a verbal commitment during his stay in Winston-Salem ending his recruitment.
Although Britt High School failed to end the 2005 season as many had envisioned, Frye earned All-Region honors as a cornerback, All-Conference honors as both a wide receiver and cornerback, and was selected to represent North Carolina in the Shrine Bowl as a starting safety.
