Sturdivant, a 6-foot-6 280-pound offensive tackle from Wadesboro (N.C.) Anson County, is stunned by the sudden influx of interest resulting in a lack of favorites.
"I couldn't tell you [who my favorites are]," said Sturdivant. "There's just so many great schools, great facilities, great coaches, and I haven't even been to them all. I couldn't tell what my favorites are right now.
"I went to Georgia last week, and they kind of stood out. They had good facilities, they had great coaches, but that was just my first junior day."
This past Saturday Sturdivant attended a junior day at N.C. State. He plans to attend Clemson's junior day this upcoming Saturday followed by a junior day at Tennessee shortly thereafter.
Realizing how the recruiting process could easily become overwhelming, Sturdivant is hoping for a late summer verbal commitment. However, the need to make the right decision might force him to wait until after taking his official visits.
"Hopefully I have a decision made before the football season," said Sturdivant. "Maybe I'll go on a couple of official visits, because I have to live there for four or five years."
