Pirates Coming on Miley Strong

Brandon Miley is still awaiting his first scholarship offer, but increased interest from an in-state school is looking extremely promising.

"East Carolina has started to show a lot of interest in me," said Miley. "I went up to their campus [Friday]. I saw the facilities and spring practice. It was really nice. They told me that they are really interested in me. They really want me to come down to their camp on June 10th."

Miley will accept ECU's invitation and attend their summer camp as well as camps at North Carolina, N.C. State, and maybe Virginia.

In addition to the Pirates, Miley is also seeing strong interest from Virginia, N.C. State, and North Carolina.

With so much still up in the air in regards to offers, Miley is keeping his favorites list empty.

"I don't really [have any favorites], right now," said Miley. "I'm just trying to stay open and look at all the schools and see what I like, right now."

At the Shrine Bowl Combine held in Snow Hill (N.C.) this past weekend, Miley was the class of the quarterback group in passing drills. For a pocket passer, Miley's combine event numbers were relatively impressive. After measuring in at 6-foot-1 ½ and 196 pounds, he recorded a 4.9-second 40-yard dash, 4.2-second 20-yard shuttle, 27.2-inch vertical, and 14 reps of 185 pounds on the bench press.

As a junior at Wilmington (N.C.) Hoggard, Miley completed 81-of-136 passes (60%) for 1,310 yards and 12 touchdowns.
