Bowman considers himself not only to be an accomplished athlete but also a hard working student. Bowman backs this statement up by having maintained a 3.0 GPA throughout his high school career. "During his four years of high school, he has taken the most rigorous classes in preparation for his higher education," said Principal, George Kelley.
In addition to playing football and upholding his grades, Bowman has also served on the Student Athletic Leadership Team (SALT), Students Against Drunk Driving (SADD), Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) and the chess club. Bowman also is actively involved in his church, Eastside Fellowship Outreach, where he participates in praise and worship, flag presentations and his youth group. Bowman has made the most out his high school experience, taking the opportunity to be involved. "He is involved, helps with decision-making of rules, and looks for ways to help us establish credibility in the community," said Kelley.
Bowman has received offers from Liberty University, Elon University and Wofford University, and currently plans to attend Liberty University in the fall. Bowman has also been named All-Conference and All-County. "He is not the most vocal player, but plays hard every play and encourages his teammates to do the same," said Athletic Director, Jimmy Fletcher. Bowman continues to strive higher on and off the field. "As an athlete I fully understand what it means to be a team player…and as a senior I plan to continue to demonstrate leadership skills through hard work, determination and teamwork as a player and team captain."
