OhioPrepScene is always looking to help football players from Ohio.
OhioPrepScene just received some information on a young man who is working hard to play at the next level.
Ryan Beatty plays at Olentangy High School, he is a cornerback and wide receiver who has been working this summer to receive a scholarship in football. Standing 5'11 and 170lbs Ryan has been timed in the 40 at 4.49.
Last season Ryan played more corner than receiver and has already attended Ohio University's camp this summer. He's also been to Eastern Kentucky, Western Kentucky and Kent State this summer.
In talking with Ryan's father, he told us what his son has been doing and what he's seen so far.
Ryan has been under the radar in recruiting. Having gone to Kent State for a camp Ryan saw what he needs to work on and the type of talent that he's up against. We have taken visits to EKU and Western Kentucky and liked what we saw. Ryan would like to play at the highest level he's able and is honest with himself in this matter. Last season Ryan gave up only two touchdowns and saw very little QB's test his side of the field. Ryan's coach likes to run man-to-man coverage and Ryan had very little problem in doing this. Ryan has a 2.8 GPA and already taken the SAT. At this time Ryan would be qualified but wants to retake to improve his scores.
Olentangy High School may be a team to keep an eye on. They will play a DI schedule and be a DII team. They will also have around 30 seniors and with players like Ryan, Jared Ison and others this could be the year.
