RECRUITING EVALUATION:Tom Stockle

HIGH SCHOOL: Macedonia Nordonia

Senior Class: 2004

Height: 6'2 - 6'3.5

Weight: 230 lbs.

40 Time: 4.7

Positions Played: Tom started at QB in the 2002 season. Stooped playing QB after injury in first game of 2002. Injury cut into him playing at the level he's used to playing at. The injury was to the shoulder and he missed 6 games due to it. Coming back Tom played RB, DE or any position the coaches asked him to play.

OPS RECRUITING POSITION: FULLBACK

In watching tape of Tom you can see he stands out from other players. In the one tape I watched Tom plays DE for all of the first half only to come in at RB in the second half after an injury to starting RB. The game shifted from a loss to a victory with Tom's performance. He is a hard runner who is not scared to be hit or to deliver a blow himself. With his size he will make a school a nice athletic fullback who can block with the best. I also saw that he doesn't get knocked off his feet very easy.

AREA TO WORK ON: RUNNING SKILLS

Tom has some work to do in a couple of areas. First he must keep his legs driving at all times. While he does this most all of the time I feel he can do even better. Second, Tom must work on getting lower in his running style. At the time of the tape his style is a stand-up long strider (Eddie George - Eric Dickerson) type. He can't do this at the next level as a fullback. Tom gets a good head of steam very fast and delivers the hit to the defender first.

STRENGTH:WILLINGNESS TO DELIVER BLOWS AND OVERALL STRENGTH

Tom is a strong player with a never say die motor. Fullback will be and should be the position he plays at the next level. Strong leg drive with a big frame. Time in a college strength program will only make him better.

INJURY

Tom is fully healed from the injury early last season. He has done a full rehab of his shoulder after having surgery in the off season. Tom had to miss most summer camps while waiting for a doctors release. He now has the release and is ready to pursue a chance to play at the next level.

STOCK: RISING FAST

A good start will provide some film for colleges to look at. If he is carrying the ball they will be impressed with his play. Look for Tom to play at MAC or Mid-Major schools at the next level if he can stay injury free in 2003.
