When I first started to look at the new rankings the first thing that I saw was Marcus Freeman dropped to 96th in the country. OK! yes I know my ties to the Wayne program run way back and I've seen Marcus develop into this monster prospect. But when I looked deep into the list I found many other problems.
1. How does a player who is ranked #1 in the midwest get ranked lower than a player ranked #2 in the midwest? EXP.: Kyle Williams is the #1 ranked player in the midwest. Dan Connor is the #2. In the national rankings Dan is #3 and Kyle is #18.
2. Chris Patterson who is ranked # 41 in the national 100 is ranked #12 in the midwest. Marcus Freeman is #10 in the midwest but only 96 in the national 100!!! Give me a break!!
3. Brandon Miller of Georgia is #6 in the South 100 and #6 in the national 100. Did I miss something here????? If he is the #6 player in the south that means the players ranked 1 to 6 in the other regional rankings are wrong. Am I right on this or wrong.
As I tell many who look at rankings, just because you see it in print don't believe it. Rankings are things some fans really want and take to heart. While I'm still proud of the number of kids from Ohio that made the Top 100. What I really question is why only 5 made it on the list.
